2 x 135g packs Hartley’s Strawberry Jelly Cubes
200ml double cream
1 tsp red food colouring
Brain jelly mould
Separate jelly into cubes then place in a large jug. Add 1 pint (570ml) boiling water, and stir until dissolved. Add 1/4 pint (150ml) cold water and chill down in the fridge (if you add cream to hot liquid, it will separate)
Stir in double cream.
Before pouring the jelly into your mould you may need to support it. Try placing the mould in a shallow dish with kitchen paper.
Pour the jelly into the mould.
Put in the fridge to set. You may need to stir the mixture after 30 minutes to ensure uniform colour.
To serve the jelly, briefly dip the mould into warm water.
Using a fine paint brush paint fake blood vessels in the crevices created by the mould.
